2021 Brookside Holiday Season Opener | Friday, November 12

Get a head start on holiday shopping with Brookside’s annual Holiday Season Opener. This is a free, family-friendly weekend event with outdoor music, pop-up events and giveaways. You can roam the historic district sipping hot chocolate and gazing at holiday window displays. 

10 am-6 pm. Brookside Area Shopping District, 63rd Street and Wornall Road, KCMO.

Festival of Lights | Friday, November 12-Sunday, November 14

Who wouldn’t want to usher in the holidays by wandering through the glow and twinkle of thousands of lights? Take a stroll through Powell Gardens’ captivating and colorful display, comprising nearly twenty miles of lights strung across the garden’s bountiful trees and architecture. While you’re there, you can also visit Santa and stay warm with a cup of their hot chocolate or Louisburg cider.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City Presents Lyric Opera Goes to Hollywood in Concert | Saturday, November 13–Sunday, November 14

Movies would be nothing without the dramatic scores that accompany them, entrancing us in the story and the melody. The Lyric Opera of Kansas City returns to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts with Lyric Opera Goes to Hollywood. The concert will feature music from Pretty Woman, Fatal Attraction, Someone to Watch Over Me, A Room with a View and Up

DAN + SHAY | Sunday, November 14

Pop duo Dan + Shay are touring in support of their new album Good Things, featuring the single, “Good Things,” an auto-tuned piano ballad about lost love. The act, which performs for mostly country music audiences, will bring their satin-smooth pop to the T-Mobile Center.

KC Wine Co. Sip & Shop | Saturday, November 13 

If it’s wine you’re looking for, head to KC Wine Co. this Saturday for their Sip & Shop event. There will be local businesses and wines of all kinds—including wine slushies. 

10 am-5 pm. KC Wine Co.,13875 South Gardner Rd., Olathe. Free. 

Luminary Night | Friday, November 12 

Looking for a scenic outdoor walk with performances and s’mores? The Nelson has you covered. Their magical Luminary Night will return to Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park this weekend, and there will be a fire pit to roast marshmallows, hot cocoa, wine and beer. Plus, the first fifty members to show their cards will receive a free s’mores kit.

Petting Zoo at Crane Brewing Company | Sunday, November 14

It’s Petting Zoo Week! Wanna celebrate by knockin’ back a few brews and letting the kids play with kids? Head down to Crane this weekend, where they’ll be hosting Paramount Pony Petting Zoo, Big Red Food Truck KC and Sweet and Savory Food Truck—there will be smash burgers and desserts, too.
