►Why you’re here: Alamo Drafthouse might be part of a chain of movie theaters, but its bar, The Chesterfield, is in an era of its own. A lush jazz atmosphere, classic cocktails pulled straight from a Prohibition-era drinking guide (think sidecar and Sazerac) pay homage to Kansas City’s legendary history. The bar hosts karaoke, Geeks Who Drink trivia nights, swing and salsa dancing and themed parties.
