We love Kansas City like family. We know what makes it great, we know how it struggles, and we know its secrets. Through great storytelling, photography and design, we help our readers celebrate our city’s triumphs, tend to its faults and revel in the things that make it unique.
Kansas City magazine has been covering the city since 2005. We provide insight into the people, places and events that shape our landscape and help our readers make smart choices about everything from restaurants and shopping to real estate.
We’re the only local magazine to be recognized nationally for excellence, and we stand apart in our commitment to fair journalism, deep research and our commitment to serving an engaged community of paying subscribers.
Kansas City magazine is published and released monthly. Our subscribers can expect to receive the magazine in the mail around the first of the month.
The most reliable source for getting the magazine on newsstands are Sprouts, Whole Foods and Barnes & Noble stores in the Kansas City area.
These outlets allow independent distribution and so we’re able to arrange our own prompt delivery.
The magazine is also available at newsstands at many local grocery stores and drug stores (Hen House, Price Chopper, Hyvee, CVS) however distribution to these newsstands is handled by a company that contracts with the stores and the recent global pandemic has stressed the system so we cannot guarantee they will be for sale in a timely fashion.
