The Waffle Bar
No one knows quite how Hong Kong’s bubble waffle came to exist. Whatever the origin, hot off the (waffle) press comes Waffle Bar located on the Country Club Plaza (4745 Central St., Kansas City, Mo. 816-832-8348). Waffle Bar’s owners encountered a similar waffle in New York while traveling and thought they should bring the idea to Kansas City.
The shop sells the thin waffles that look something like the bubble wrap you use to package fragile items for shipping either dipped in icing or rolled up and filled with ice cream.
