KC’s premier annual dining event, Restaurant Week, is happening this month from January 10-19. You know the deal – Each participating restaurant will have a coursed menu available at a discounted rate. Sure, you can visit an old favorite, but with over 200 restaurants participating, we recommend trying a restaurant you haven’t before.
Be sure to use the hashtag #KCRW2025 when posting your meals on social media. For the full list of restaurants, head to kcrestaurantweek.com.
Here are 6 new-ish restaurants we’re excited to try.
Blanc Champagne Bar (3835 Main St., KCMO)
Don’t write Blanc off as just a champagne bar. The new Westport spot has a food menu too, from the trending caviar bumps to fried chicken.
The $55 Restaurant Week dinner menu features items like seared tuna, lobster bisque and lasagne bolognese.
Oil on Linen (4420 Warwick Blvd., KCMO)
Oil on Linen is the new restaurant in the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. Ted Habiger, chef and owner of Room 39, is bringing new life into the museum’s restaurant, which was formerly Café Sebastienne, and we’re excited to see what he has in store.
For Restaurant Week, two menus, one for $40 and the other for $55, showcase seasonal ingredients. However, my eye is on the desserts – goat cheese ice cream with pineapple or horchata rice pudding with brûléed bananas.
Aqua Penny’s (11652 Ash St., Leawood, KS)
Aqua Penny’s opened in Leawood’s Town Center in April last year and while it’s not necessarily new, it’s an exciting addition to KC’s seafood options. Two tasting menus (three courses for $40 or four courses for $55) feature shrimp cocktails, mango catfish, Cajun salmon and more.
City Barrel Pizza + Patio (120 E Gregory Blvd., KCMO)
Come to City Barrel Pizza + Patio for the New York-inspired pizza, stay for the homestyle Restaurant Week lunch menu, which, surprisingly, doesn’t offer pizza at all. Still, a four course menu for 20 bucks is hard to beat.
A smashburger, Peruvian chicken sandwich, meatloaf and mash and an ice cream sandwich are just a few of the options available on their lunch menu.
If you’re looking for pizza, however, the $40 deal involves a classic pie with an entree salad and ranch knots. Feel free to upgrade to a specialty pizza with an entree salad and cheesy garlic bread for $50.
T’ÄHÄ (4814 Roanoke Pkwy, KCMO)
Considering T’ÄHÄ, the Country Club Plaza’s authentic Mexican restaurant, can be a bit pricey, so Restaurant Week is great opportunity to try the restaurant on a budget.
Try the $40 brunch menu, complete with an espresso martini for dessert or the more hefty $55 dinner menu with courses featuring delicious empanadas and lamb barbacoa.
I reviewed T’ÄHÄ for last September. Read the restaurant review here.
Aroma Bistro Gourmet Eatery (14121 Earthworks Dr., Smithville, MO)
Okay, this is an exception to the “new-ish” aspect of the list. Aroma Bistro isn’t new, having opened right before the pandemic. But still, the masses have been raving about this off-the-beaten-path Smithville eatery and our interests are piqued.
The three homestyle menus offered this week feature loaded baked potatoes, carnitas mac and cheese, pork schnitzel and more.
