Thai Orchid, a strip mall gem in Mission, has been in the Rojjanasrirat family for two generations. After 26 years in business and establishing itself as a favorite with the locals, the traditional Thai spot is expanding. A new Northland location will open this October in the Metro North Crossing complex northeast of US Highway 169 and Barry Road (460 NW Legacy Dr, KCMO).

“We believe in the Metro North project,” says second-generation owner Jonathan Rojjanasrirat. “We think the Northland is growing and needs more food selection for the people. We can only offer so much at Thai Orchid Mission due to our limited space. At this location, we know that we have the capacity to do more and be more. That’s what we want to bring to the Northland—creative and tasty Thai street food.”

Along with the many Thai Orchid menu staples that customers have come to know and love, the new spot will feature more casual Thai street food fare and small plates. The Northern Thai braised beef curry khao soi, Thai BBQ chicken and blazing Thai hot tom yum wings are just a few examples of the new dishes to come.

The newest Thai Orchid will be open for lunch and dinner on Wednesdays through Mondays. For more information, visit www.thaiorchidkc.com or follow Thai Orchid on Instagram at @thaiorchidkc.
