A new London-inspired bakery will host tea parties in Overland Park

Kate Smith Soiree, a boutique bakery specializing in macarons and custom cakes, is opening a second location in the former Clocktower Bakery at 7911 Santa Fe Drive in downtown Overland Park.

The original location in Lenexa Public Market operates out of Butterfield’s Bakery and will continue to sling French pastries as a vendor. However, the downtown Overland Park location will be pulling inspiration from London.

Owner Kate Smith has partnered with Savoy Tea to offer ethically sourced high-quality teas for patrons to enjoy with their sweet treats. All The Love Roasting by Martin City Brewing will be supplying coffee. The ambiance and design will be taking a note from London bakeries as well. While pastry selections rotate daily, Smith maintains the “core menu will have macarons, quiche, pastries, decorated cakes, and sweets.”

Kate Smith Soiree’s popular hands-on macaron baking classes at the Lenexa Public Market will continue to be offered but the new location near the award-winning Overland Park Farmers Market brings more opportunities to curate special events for guests. “We are excited for the potential of this new space to have celebrations, specialty classes, and tea parties,” says Smith.

The bakery is projected to open in mid to late January.
