Your Favorite Gladstone Deli Now Has Indoor Seating

The Gladstone deli Italian Sausage Co. has gained a cult following with its hefty loaded sandwiches and homemade sausage links. However, the 500 square-foot family-owned spot, nestled in a strip mall, had little seating – just a couple picnic tables outside. A recent move to the space two doors down has given the deli not only more room for seating, but also a bigger menu.

The new 1,100 square-foot site opened earlier this month and seats 38 (7319 North Oak Trafficway, Gladstone, MO). For the deli’s owners, husband-and-wife team Joe and Michelle Brancato, a bigger kitchen means more opportunity to serve dishes they couldn’t in their previous limited space. The new menu is beefed up with options like arancini, Italian steak sandwiches, authentic Philly cheesesteaks, Italian beefs and hand breaded chicken cutlet parmesan.

“There is so much to come like deli meats and take-and-bake scratch-made meal options,” says Michelle. “We now have a liquor license and have fun Aperol spritzes, limoncellos, espresso martinis and sangria slushies coming for summer. The biggest thing we are working on is hand pulled fresh mozzarella daily.”

Along with their Italian heritage, the Brancatos are also inspired from the East coast. Italian pastries shipped in from New Jersey are now available to finish off your meal – Lobster tails, sfogliatelle, cannolis, zeppoles and more.

Aside from the hoagie rolls and Roma loaves, all bread is now baked in-house. Eventually, the deli will be open for breakfast offering specialty bagel sandwiches, an espresso bar and other “traditional diner” breakfast dishes.

Italian Sausage Co. is also a vendor at Arrowhead and has been known to collaborate with chefs around the metro. Keep an eye out for menu specials on the deli’s Instagram, @Italiansausageco.
