Today is International Women’s Day, a century-old holiday dedicated to women’s rights celebrated every year on March 8.

Here’s how to celebrate the day in Kansas City, paying tribute to all the awesome women in your life today as well as throughout Women’s History Month.

On March 8th, women can enjoy 10 percent off Italian eats for lunch and dinner at downtown’s Tavernonna.

International Women’s Day Bar Takeover

Head over to Mission Taco Joint to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8. Three standout women in the KC beverage industry will be mixing up awesome cocktails to pair with delicious tacos.

Who will be there? Jill Cockson of Swordfish Tom’s, Katy Wade of Fox and Pearl, and Jenn Tosatto of Mission Taco Joint East Crossroads.

They will be donating a dollar from every special cocktail from 2-4 p.m. to the Women’s Foundation.

Women’s History Month Dinner: A Tribute To The Women That Inspire Us

Five Kansas City chefs are coming together on March 30 to host a fundraiser dinner that celebrates the women in their lives who ignited their culinary spark. The 5-course fundraiser dinner will be hosted by Chef Shanita Bryant at Urban Cafe KC for $75. The money raised will go to The Prospect, a non-profit providing quality culinary training for low income individuals who are hungry to learn. Reserve your spot here.
