Dining on carryout in your home—where you’re most likely spending a lot of your time these days—just doesn’t quite have the same flair as a restaurant dining experience. That’s why these new-to-the-scene Kansas City Instagram influencers are taking matters into their own hands.
Tiny Table Carryout Club, or #TTCOC, posted its first Instagram on April 7 outside of Fox and Pearl, the caption reading: “@foxandpearlkc is one of my favorite restaurants in KC. In times like these it’s important to support local businesses when we can. Featured on today’s menu was the fried pork sandwich, chocolate pecan cookies, house salad with mustard vinaigrette, and a tiny #millerhighlife to match our #tinytable. Not pictured is the delicious Mac and cheese. First post from the #TTCOC We hope to bring a smile to your faces.”
The idea for TTCOC started between two friends, Chandler McCune and Craig Nagel and “evolved into us having an Instagram account for our friends to enjoy, and then it further evolved, or devolved, into us using my mom’s, and in turn my, childhood play table and chairs,” McCune says. “They’re great for fitting in my trunk, but we barely fit in the seats.”

Oftentimes the pair even deck out eating spaces with a tablecloth, real plateware, votive candles and flower centerpieces. Along with Fox and Pearl, TTCOC has dined outside a few more places around the city such as Anton’s, Cafe Vie and iPho Tower. All while probably getting a few weird looks from passersby but, hey—at least they’re keeping a six-foot distance.

“All in all, the food is enough to drive us, but it also gives us satisfaction to support the restaurants we love, to bring some silliness to the world and hopefully make some people giggle,” McCune says.
You sure made us giggle, @tinytablecarryoutclub, and we can’t wait to see which local business you support next.
