The Overland Park Farmers Market is up for national recognition

In Kansas City, it’s no secret that the Overland Park Farmers Market is one of the best in around, and now the market is competing for national recognition.

The Farmers Market Coalition is hosting a nationwide contest to find the best market in each state, region, and in the country. Vote for the OP Farmers’ Market and shop each Saturday and Wednesday.

The Overland Park Farmers’ Market connects small farmers from the area with food lovers in a vibrant public space in the center of OP’s quaint downtown. The market at 7950 Marty Street runs both Wednesday and Saturday mornings, beginning at 7:30 am and going through the lunch hour.

Among the regular sellers at this large and diverse market, you’ll find everything from kombucha to strip steaks ready to toss on the grill. (There’s a full vendor list here.)

Right now is the peak of the summer vegetable season which means tons of options.

What’s your “summer trinity” —the three favorite summer items you just cannot get enough of from the vendors? Everyone’s is different, obviously.

Peaches, tomatoes, sweet corn?

Bluberries, blackberries, peaches?

Tomatoes, lettuce, bacon?

Green beans, sweet corn, zucchini?

Tomatoes, cucumbers, berries?

They’ve got all of that and a lot more.
