A Passion For Pumpkin

 

You know October is in full swing when you bite into a warm slice of pumpkin bread and all of a sudden you go a little weak in the knees. 

  Pumpkin is the star of almost any autumnal offering from your kitchen.

  What makes this trifecta of treats extra special is pumpkin butter. It’s a no fail way to make sure any cake, bread or brownie will be graced with the goodness of fall.


 Pumpkin Bars

  What you will need:

  1 box of yellow cake mix

  ½ cup of butter melted

  13 ounces of pumpkin butter

  3 eggs

  1 tablespoon of flour

  ¼ cup of sugar

  ¼ butter softened

  3 teaspoons milk 

  1 teaspoon of cinnamon

  1 teaspoon of vanilla

 

  Directions:

  Preheat oven to 350

  Reserve 1 cup of cake mix

  Mix remaining cake mix with melted butter, vanilla and 1 egg 

  Press in a 13 X 9-inch pan

  Mix pumpkin butter with 2 eggs and milk and pour over cake.

  Stir remaining cake mix, flour, sugar, butter and cinnamon, and crumble over the pumpkin layer.

  Bake for 35 minutes.
