It’s still what you crave

Crave

Customers of this longtime Northland restaurant are asking “what happened?”

The Jerusalem Cafe sign is down, replaced by the Crave Mediterranean Cafe logo.

It has the same owners, just a new name and some new menu items.

Jaclyn and Bakr Razooqi opened the location (9263 N.E. 83rd Terrace) near Liberty about  seven years ago. They were friends of the Jerusalem Cafe founder, but when they wanted to expand with a Springfield location, they branched out on their own.

They’ve spent the last few weeks remodeling and rebranding the Northland restaurant to the Crave concept.

They said they are still using their original recipes for manakeesh (a Middle-Eastern flatbread) with a variety of toppings including cheese gyro, veggie, beef kifta, and spinach feta; a variety of sandwiches from hummus to shawarma chicken Philly; gyros; and entrees such as lemon chicken, curry chicken and lamb kebabs. Desserts include baklava and chocolate mousse cake.

Under Crave, the couple added bowls, veggie lasagna and moussaka.

“We are continually phasing some stuff out and doing our own thing,” Jaclyn says. “Same food, same people who prep it, and more items.”

Their Springfield location opened in October.
