Patrick Mahomes’ future is so bright that a designer brand mastered a pair of shades in collaboration with him.
Another notch in his belt of brand partnerships (State Farm, Hunts Ketchup, Adidas), the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback collaborated with Oakley to release the Patrick Mahomes II Signature Series sunglasses, which hit the market today.
“When I first joined Team Oakley, I was instantly drawn to the Sutro family—a bold and sleek performance frame that is style driven for life off-the-field,” Mahomes said in Oakley’s press release. “Now today, to have the opportunity to launch my own Signature Series that represents who I am as an athlete has been an honor.”
The sleek Sutro Lite shades have a red frame, an ode not only to the Chiefs but Mahomes’ alma mater, Texas Tech. There’s a II in the corner of the lense, a nod to the MVP’s nicknames “2 pm” and “Showtime”.
Eagle eyes will spot that Mahomes sported the signature frames already en route to Miami on December 13, where later that day he and his team would beat the Dolphins 33-27 to clinch the AFC West title—at the same site he led the team to win Super Bowl LIV, no less.
