Small Bites: Openings, Closings & Other Restaurant News

Openings

Imo’s Pizza & Feng Cha Boba Tea (Metro North Crossing at 169 Hwy & Barry Road)

Metro North Crossing has announced that Imo’s Pizza and Feng Cha Boba Tea will both open this fall in the 106-acre mixed use development.

The new Imo’s (8502 N. Jefferson St.) is the third of the franchise. It will open in a 1500 square-foot space in the same building as the recently opened KPOT.

Imo’s is known for its “original St. Louis-style pizza.” St. Louis style pizza is defined by thin, crispy, crunchy crust, covered in toppings and layered with a cheese blend.

Feng Cha Boba Tea, also a franchise, will open in an 1800 square-foot space near the recently opened Thai Orchid (440 NW Legacy Dr.). Boba teas, loose-leaf teas, milk teas and more are featured on the menu.

Off The Hook (7506 N. Oak Trafficway Gladstone, MO, offthehookbbqllc.com)

Kansas City, say hello to the newest barbecue joint: Off The Hook BBQ.

Off The Hook BBQ, a family-owned restaurant, opened last month in Gladstone. The barbecue concept began as a food truck with owner Wardell Hooks Jr. popping up around town for the last fifteen years.

Off The Hook’s menu is starting small, offering meats like brisket, pulled pork and ribs. A hot dog loaded with brisket, a quesadilla and nachos are also offered.

Luca Bagel Co. (633 E. 63rd St., lucabagel.com)

The highly anticipated Luca Bagel opened its doors last week in Brookside.

Sitting next to BKS Artisan Ales brewery, the bagel shop’s opening was met with excitement, with lines out the door and wrapped around the building.

Luca Bagel offers New Jersey-style bagels, sourdough bagels and bagel sandwiches. To read more about Luca Bagel’s journey from a pop-up to a brick-and-mortar, read here
