The Music Man
Your favorite traveling salesman is on his way to Overland Park. The Jewish Community Center presents The Music Man at the Lewis & Shirley White Theatre. The story of a con man with no musical knowledge convinces the people of River City, Iowa, he can organize a boys’ band. This Broadway classic will mark the beginning of the J’s 20th season.

Festival of Lights
The only thing more beautiful than Powell Gardens in the spring is the botanical garden in the winter, shining with holiday lights. The Festival of Lights is a great opportunity to appreciate the garden’s landscape and architecture while ushering in the holiday spirit. In addition to the mile-long walking path, which includes over 20 miles of lights, attendees may enjoy other attractions such as winter plants like poinsettias, local artwork, opportunities to visit Santa and even workshops on how to make holiday decorations and drinks.

Little Big Town
Country music group Little Big Town is celebrating their 25th anniversary as a band with a US headline arena tour, the Take Me Home Tour. The group will be joined by longtime collaborators, Sugarland.

Mayor’s Holiday Festival
The Mayor’s Holiday Festival in Downtown Overland Park is a perfect way to celebrate the upcoming holidays. Activities include the tree lighting ceremony, which features the mayor himself, along with pictures with Santa, live music and carolers, holiday shopping and family hayrides.

The Barber of Seville
Lyric Opera of Kansas City presents composer Gioachino Rossini’s 1816 opera, The Barber of Seville, made famous for modern audiences by our favorite wascally wabbit, Bugs Bunny. The rom-com opera follows hopeless romantic Count Almaviva in an elaborate comedy of errors to get his true love before her hasty marriage.

Crow and Gazelle
Oklahoma music legend Mike McClure, renowned for his pioneering role in the Red Dirt sound, has launched a new project with partner Chrislyn Lawrence: Crow and Gazelle. After meeting more than a decade ago and feeling an undeniable connection, they reunited and formed the new band, releasing their first album, As Above now So Below, this spring.

Billie Eilish
With Billie Eilish coming to town, Kansas City is about to be Happier Than Ever. As one of the stops in the world tour for her new album Hit Me Hard and Soft, the show at the T-Mobile Center will host the Grammy-winning artist on Nov. 16. This bold new album, written and produced by Eilish and her brother Finneas, ushers in a new era that no one would want to miss seeing live.

John Fedchock
Renowned trombonist and Grammy-nominated arranger John Fedchockis making a stop at The Blue Room in the American Jazz Museum in support of his newest album, Justifiably J.J. This high-energy album recorded live at Indianapolis’ Jazz Kitchen pays tribute to renowned trombonist J.J. Johnson’s enduring legacy.

Meet Me at the Fair!: Music from the Great World’s Fairs
Meet Me at the Fair! is a musical celebration of the historical World’s Fairs by Paragon Ragtime Orchestra. Often overlooked but historically important, music played a key role in the success of past fairs and festivals, launching both hit songs and the illustrious careers of many musicians like the “King of Ragtime” Scott Joplin. This new program features continuous projections of lost fairground photos and historic World’s Fair films by Thomas Edison and company.

Lucas Zelnick
Comedian Lucas Zelnick is hitting KC in support of his Highly Laffeinated Comedy Tour. After earning an MBA from Stanford, Lucas put the degree in his back pocket while hitting stages in his hometown of NYC to pursue comedy, gaining widespread popularity with his conversational stand-up that challenges his cushy Manhattan upbringing.

The Real Barbee Unmasked
Kansas City Public Theatre presents The Real Barbee Unmasked, a cabaret performance starring Victoria Barbee and directed by Elizabeth Bettendorf Bowman. In this free one-woman show at the Black Box, experience song, dance and more as Barbee brings the audience along on a journey of empowerment and self-discovery. Opening night will also include a dance party, called Come On Barbee, Let’s Go Party, immediately following the performance, featuring beverages, art, disco music and more.
