10 local restaurants offering Thanksgiving meals

Whether you’re a weary traveler looking to dine out or you simply want to make your Thanksgiving feast stress-free, the following Kansas City restaurants offer dine-in and pick-up options to cater to your various Turkey Day needs.

DINE-IN

Lazia

Located in the Crossroads Hotel, Lazia will be open 3-9 pm on Thanksgiving Day and offering a $75 prix-fixe menu inspired by the restaurant’s Italian roots, La Fiesta del Tacchino. The menu uses a non-traditional approach of incorporating turkey with dishes such as turkey alfredo, olive oil poached turkey breast, turkey leg fennel sausage and turkey meatballs. A vegetarian menu is also available. 

The Capital Grille

Capital Grille is offering a chef-prepared dine-in Thanksgiving dinner with a traditional spread of slow-roasted turkey, brioche stuffing, French green beans, cranberry-pear chutney, and mashed potatoes with the option of pecan-crusted sweet potatoes or pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Thanksgiving sides are available for pickup Thanksgiving and the day before. Make reservations or place a preorder on the Capital Grille website

The Stilwell 

Situated within the Loews Kansas City Hotel, the restaurant’s holiday dinner features roast turkey breast, fennel and mushroom stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes with sage turkey gravy for $26. Tom’s Town bourbon pumpkin pie is available for dessert for an extra $10. Reservations can be made online.

Eddie V’s 

The steakhouse is offering a Thanksgiving Day meal elevated with live music and signature cocktails. The menu will remain true to a classic Thanksgiving feast with slow-roasted turkey, gravy, brioche sage stuffing, cranberry chutney, roasted butternut squash, hand-whipped mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie tartlet. 

Summit Grill and Third Street Social

With locations in Gladstone, Lee’s Summit, Waldo, and Gladstone, both Midwestern restaurants are offering traditional plated Thanksgiving dinners along with their regular serving menu. 

Carryout Thanksgiving Family Meal Packs are also available and include brown sugar glazed ham, slow roasted turkey, green beans, cornbread dressing, fresh cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, dinner rolls with butter, house salad with vinaigrette and ranch, and gooey butter cake. Each Family Pack is $130 and feeds four to six people. Place orders by November 20 by 3 pm and pickup on Thanksgiving Day.

PICK-UP

Scott’s Kitchen and Catering

Offering a Thanksgiving feast that feeds eight to ten people, the barbecue joint’s holiday menu consists of sliced smoked turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and rolls. Reheating instructions are included. Online preorder is due by Nov. 18. Pickup is on Nov. 22-23.

Rye

Both Rye’s Leawood and Plaza locations are offering a selection of their most popular house-made pies. Available for online preorder are classic pumpkin, bourbon-laced MoKan (a decadent blend of pecans and walnuts baked in butter, sugar, and bourbon), Dutch apple pie, and banana cream pie. Pickup dates are Nov. 21-Nov. 23. Note: Sold out!

Zero Zero Pasta

Pick and choose from a selection of fresh hand-crafted pasta and sauces. Pork and foie gras cappelletti and butternut squash ravioli can be paired with cream sauces such as foie gras, pumpkin, and parmesan. Ready-to-bake lasagna and dessert options of tiramisu, and Italian wedding cookies are also available. Place your preorder by Nov. 21 to pickup Nov. 23

Bay Boy Specialty Sandwiches

The sandwich shop’s signature Dutch Crunch rolls are available as dinner rolls in packs of six for $8 each. Place your order by Nov. 21 and pick up Nov. 23, 11 am – 8 pm.

Fox & Fire BBQ

Give Thanksgiving a smoky twist with dishes like brisket, pork butt, cheesy potato bake, baked beans, and banana pudding. Various serving sizes are available. Place your order by emailing foxfirebbq@gmail.com by Nov. 20. Pick up is Thanksgiving morning 8 am-10 am.
