Halloween is a little different this year. For kiddos, Zoom is taking the place of PTO-organized classroom Halloween parties. And adults (safely) hitting the town must find a way to make required face masks go with their costumes.
Here are a few Halloween events going on in the city this weekend—enjoy it while temperatures are back up in the sixties!
The Monarch Bar
The swanky Masquerade at The Monarch on Saturday will feature DJ Casio McCombs and a Halloween costume contest. 4808 Roanoke Pkwy, KCMO
The Mockingbird Lounge
If you don’t have a costume yet, now is the time to find one—everyone who dresses up can take advantage of Mocking Bird Lounge’s drink specials on Saturday. 204 Orchard St., KCK
Apparition Bar
The Kansas City popup bar in a tent outside Big Rip Brewing in North KC is the ghouliest bar in the city to be at on Saturday. Thirteen spooky-themed craft cocktails will be on the menu. 216 E. 9th Ave., North KC
Missie B’s
After a long absence and some interior remodeling, the premier drag bar will be making its grand reopening on Friday. And don’t fret if you can’t make it on the 31st—the Halloween party continues on Sunday. 805 W. 39th St., KCMO
Mean Mule Distilling Co.
The Crossroads distillery will host a tarot and tattoo night on Saturday, with mystic Mark Allen will be doing card readings and the first hundred drinks sold coming with temporary tattoos. 1733 Locust St., KCMO
Servaes Brewing Co.
The Shawnee brewery known for their fruity and sour concoctions will release four new candy-inspired beers on Friday: a Hard Fruit Candy cream ale, Burst of Stars gose, Under the Milky Way sweet stout and Soured Patches sour witbier. 10921 Johnson Drive, Shawnee
Up-Down
Up-Down is bringing back their iconic blood bag (punch) cocktails and they’re giving away ten tokens to anyone who shows up in a costume. 101 Southwest Blvd., KCMO
Adult Trick or Treat
Local Instagram page @kclocalevents put together an “Adult Trick or Treat” bar crawl. Participating bars and specials include a Green Goblin Cocktail at Strang Hall and $2 mimosas at Tribe Street Kitchen.
