At Planet ComicCon KC, the crowd is the spectacle. Caped crusaders, anime icons and Storm Troopers have filled Bartle Hall at the Kansas City Convention Center this weekend.
Running Friday through Sunday, more than 80,000 attendees are expected. Inside Bartle Hall, fans can explore a massive show floor filled with more than 800 artists, crafters, authors, retailers and vendors from all over the country. Started in 1999 in Overland Park, Planet Comicon KC has become one of the largest comic book and pop culture events in the country, featuring three days of celebrity and creator guests, panels and memorable fan experiences.
Now in its 27th year, Visit KC estimates the convention has an economic impact of $13.8 million dollars, including more than 2,000 hotel room nights.
