Vintage Market Days
Vintage Market Days features over 100 vendors hawking vintage items, art, home decor, treats and more. Food and coffee will be available, along with live music and giveaways throughout the weekend.

KC PrideFest
The city’s biggest LGBTQ+ festival is back at Frank A. Theis Park, across Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. from the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. KC PrideFest features three days of food, live music, drag performances, pageants and more. On Saturday, the festival will move to Broadway Boulevard in Westport, where the KC Pride Parade will kick off.

Guys and Dolls
Step into the bustling streets of 1950s New York City at Guys and Dolls, a beloved Broadway classic brimming with charm, wit, and show-stopping tunes. The Music Theater Heritage production follows high-rolling gamblers, showgirls and straight-laced missionaries as unlikely romances bloom. This timeless comedy’s score is full of musical theatre favorites like “Luck Be A Lady,” “A Bushel and a Peck” and more.

Jazzoo
The Kansas City Zoo’s annual after-hours party, Jazzoo, is one of the city’s most popular fundraising events. The “creative black tie” event is held the first Friday in June, and this year’s theme, Safari Soiree, is sure to bring out all the party animals. Every year, thousands come to roam around the zoo and nibble on bites from hundreds of local food and drink vendors, as well as dance the night away with live music and entertainment provided throughout the venue.

Vaile Mansion Strawberry Festival
There’s nothing like sweet, in-season strawberries to commemorate the early days of summer. The annual Vaile Strawberry Festival blends Victorian-style charm with community fun to raise funds for Independence’s historic Vaile Mansion and Arboretum. Enjoy a family-friendly day of antique vendors, fruity treats, live music and more.

Waldo Brews Tour
Waldo Brews Tour isn’t just about beer—the bar crawl includes all of the neighborhood’s best beverages, including teas, coffees and mixed drinks. The tour will kick off at noon with a non-alcoholic stop at Emilie’s French Teas, with subsequent trips to area favorites like City Barrel Brewing, Front Range, KC Bier Co. and more.

Café Corazon Grand Opening
Café Corazón is bringing its Latin American and indigenous drinks and eats to Brookside. The new café in Morningside Shops is the company’s third shop (with locations in West Plaza and the Crossroads). The grand opening includes a ribbon cutting ceremony, DJ, food and plenty of cocktails, yerba mate and coffee.

Saima
Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter Saima is stopping in KC on her North American tour. In support of her third studio album Bloodless, Saima’s latest ethereal and evocative release spans from folk to indie-pop. Vocalist Raffaella will open.

Quilt Walk
Viral quilter Angela Walters, who owns the Liberty quilting shop Quilting Is My Therapy, hosts the 7th Annual Quilt Walk this weekend. Nearly 1,000 fans, some from as far away as Ecuador, will gather at Walters’ store in historic downtown Liberty. The walk is a quilting show-and-tell, hosted by local shops, that includes demos and giveaways for quilters and non-quilters alike. An array of quilts from vintage to modern day quilts will be on display, and each shop will be handing out free quilt block patterns to make the 2025 Quilt Walk quilt designed by Walters.

Painted Garden
Powell Gardens’ current exhibit Painted Garden invites patrons to see the botanical garden as a gallery. A new work from KC artist Tyler Kimball (of Monarch Glass Studio), titled Growth, features blown glass wisteria vines among spring blooms in the cascading sunlight of the glass domed Conservatory.

The Goonies
Summer movie nights are in full swing at Legends and this weekend’s feature is cult classic comedy The Goonies. Each Saturday night through October, the shopping center hosts an outdoor screening of a fan-favorite film. Pack a lawn chair and blanket and enjoy drinks from Dave & Buster’s mobile bar on the lawn.
