Lifted Spirits distillery, located in the Crossroads, just won three awards from the New York International Spirits Competition, including Missouri Gin Distillery of the Year.

In addition to being named Missouri’s top gin distillery, two other Lifted Spirit’s gins (Supernova Navy Strength Gin and Bold Gin) won double gold and gold, respectively. Out of all of the gin entries, only six won “double gold,” the highest rating possible based on a unanimous panel voting.

The NYISC is a prestigious spirits competition that drew entrants from thirty-nine countries. It’s judged by bar, restaurant and liquor store owners, mixologists, retail buyers and distributors.

Lifted Spirits was founded in 2016 and crafts gin, wheat whiskey, vodka and the first absinthe distilled in Kansas City. The distillery prides itself on “tinkering with tradition” to continuously make new products using different botanicals, including this summer’s Jalapeño & Herb Infused Vodka.

Lifted Spirit’s Bold Gin, which won gold at this year’s NYISC, is the distillery’s second creation. Botanical and aromatic with rich, strong notes of dark berry and cinnamon, it’s been rated highly in other arenas too, landing among Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Spirits of 2021, and receiving a 93-point rating from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have had a great showing at this year’s NYISC—and to be named Missouri Gin Distillery of the Year,” says Lifted Spirits founder Michael Stuckey. “While awards aren’t everything, this recognition is a validation of the hard work and creativity that we pour into making our spirits. We’re excited to use this momentum to keep dreaming up the high-quality, unique spirits we’re known for.”
