Canary is throwing the holiday pop-up ‘your cool aunt’ would host

A Holiday pop-up bar is coming to Midtown this December, thanks to Canary. And it’s not going to be your typical Christmas pop-up.

“We want people to have a holiday experience at Canary,” says owner, Keely Edgington. “It’ll be like if your cool aunt who lives in Hyde Park with her partner of thirty years hosted the holidays at her place.”

The pop-up, which will be called the Silver Bell Supper Club, will be outfitted with garlands, snowflakes and paper ornaments in lieu of more gaudy decorations traditionally found in Christmas pop-up bars. Edgington wants an atmosphere that is “warm and bright.” In addition to chic holiday decor, Canary will be offering a new holiday drink menu alongside their full dinner menu.

The pop-up menu will feature eight new drinks, including an espresso martini, No Sleep ‘til Christmas, made with vanilla and coffee liquors, vodka, and oat milk. The drink is gluten- and dairy-free. Holiday in the Hamptons is a fresh take on a gimlet, with cranberry, sage, lime, and of course, gin. Canary is also bringing back a favorite from their Julep menu, the Sugarplum Old Fashioned. It’s a little bit sweeter than your standard old fashioned, with a syrup made from fig, plum and cardamom.

You can start making reservations for the Silver Bell Supper Club on November 17. The pop-up will run from December 1-31.
