When we interviewed Travis Kelce’s private chef and childhood friend Kumar Ferguson in January, we got the scoop on Kelce’s “steakhouse diet.” So, it was fitting that the New Heights podcast host, along with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, announced their plans to open 1587 Prime, a steakhouse restaurant right here in KC.

1587 Prime (a combination of the pair’s jersey numbers) is expected to open early next year in the downtown hotel Loews Kansas City (1515 Wyandotte St., KCMO). According to The Star, the upscale restaurant will feature a steak program that allows guests to choose specialty cuts from a “meat display.” More dishes will be revealed in the coming months.

The restaurant will be large – a whopping 10,000 square-feet that spans two floors at the hotel.

The Chiefs duo are collaborating with the hospitality group Noble 33 based in Las Vegas. Noble 33 has opened upscale restaurants around the world. Along with steaks, customers of 1587 Prime can expect to see menu items from other Noble 33 restaurants.

“Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City,” Mahomes said in a release.

In an interview with The Star, Tosh Berman, co-operator of Noble 33, states, “Noble 33 is leading the development of the design, experience, menu, and operation, but conceptually, Patrick & Travis’ involvement and input has been instrumental.”

According to Berman, there’s a chance for more restaurant collaborations in other cities with Mahomes and Kelce. He described collaborating with Mahomes and Kelce as a “true partnership.”
