Kansas City’s first avocado cafe, Avobite (1599 Iron St., Suite 1, North Kansas City), just opened in the Iron District, a retail spot made of shipping containers in North Kansas City. Veronica Soto’s inspiration comes from her travels, and the flavorful menu reflects that. Try the avocado salmon burger special: smoked salmon, red onions and spinach sandwiched between avocado halves then drizzled in spicy mayo. If you prefer barbecue to a burger, the shop offers DIY options so you can build a stuffed ’cado with pulled pork and a drizzle of barbecue sauce.
