Filming at Arrowhead for the Chiefs Hallmark Movie started

The Kansas City Chiefs and Hallmark Media announced just a week ago that they were teaming up to film a sports romance movie and they already started filming.

The gloomy skies and thunder storms looming over Arrowhead created the perfect backdrop to film a tailgating scene for the romance movie that’s set to debut this winter.

With the overlap between the football and Christmas season, it’s no wonder the Kansas City Chiefs and Hallmark Media—both Kansas City institutions—have decided to partner for a sweet and sporty holiday film.

Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story stars two Hallmark movie regulars, Tyler Hynes and Hunter King, along with Ed Begley Jr. of Young Sheldon, Better Call Saul and literally hundreds of other shows and films.

The film follows Chiefs superfan Alana (King) as she strives to win the “Fan of the Year” contest. It’s Derrick’s (Hyne) job as Direct of Fan Engagement to make sure Alana’s family deserves the win, but the attraction between them is complicated by the disappearance of a vintage Chiefs hat that belongs to Alana’s grandfather (Begley Jr.)—a tale as old as time.

Holiday Touchdown is produced by Skydance Sports, a new venture by Skydance Media and the NFL that aims to create quality sports-related content. The film hopes to expand and unite the fans of both Hallmark and football. Statistics show that the interest already exists: in 2023, during Countdown to Christmas, about half of Hallmark Channel viewers watched sports as well as Hallmark content. Perhaps a Chiefs football romance is exactly what we Kansas Cititans need to kick off the holiday season.
