KC breakfast spots near the NFL Draft 2023

If you’re looking to stay close to KC’s NFL Draft Experience for your morning meal, look no further than the list below.

Billie’s Grocery

(Mon – Sat: 8AM – 6PM, Sun: 8AM – 3PM, 3216 Gillham Plaza Suite 100 KCMO)

Billie’s extensive breakfast and lunch menus are full of whole and nutrient dense foods that are sure to satisfy. Classic a la carte items are available alongside comfort foods with a twist, like carnitas burritos, bacon banana waffles, and balsamic mushroom toast. The bright and spacious restaurant also has a gluten free bakery and extensive drink menu. Head to Billie’s early – it gets busy on the weekends.

Filling Station Coffee

(Mon – Fri: 6:30AM – 6PM, Sat – Sun: 7AM – 6PM, 2980 McGee Tfwy KCMO)

This Midtown coffeeshop has a brunch and lunch menu full of coffeehouse regulars – chorizo and potato breakfast burritos, egg and bacon sandwiches on a brioche bun, bagels and Ibis pastries to name just a few. It’s a great place to kickstart the day with a trendy coffee drink or cold pressed juice.

Town Topic

(2021 Broadway KCMO: open 24/7, 1900 Baltimore KCMO: Mon – Sat 7:30AM – 2:30PM)

Both Town Topic’s downtown locations are conveniently located near the NFL Draft, but the Broadway location is open twenty-four hours. The menu is full of no-frills diner style eats, like burgers, truck stop omelets, and chili cheese Coney dogs. Seating is limited, but getting food to-go is a viable option.

Mildred’s

(Mon – Fri: 7AM – 5PM, Sat – Sun: 8AM – 3PM, 1901 Wyandotte KCMO)

Mildred’s is a casual spot that has some of the best breakfast items in the city. Notable menu items include the biscuits and gravy (which ranked in our KC’s Best Biscuits and Gravy Dishes article) and according to the Food Network it’s the Best Breakfast Sandwich in town. The entry has pastries, a full coffee bar, and a cocktail menu that can’t be beat.

You Say Tomato

(Wed – Sat 8AM – 2PM, 2801 Holmes St KCMO)

Another honorable mention in our KC’s Top Biscuits and Gravy roundup, this eccentric and divey breakfast spot is a gem. The interior is cluttered with mismatched furniture while the menu focuses on locally sourced lunch and menu items. The menu rotates regularly but this week, You Say Tomato will focus on a limited brunch menu accompanied by coffee and pastries (you can almost always count on fresh cinnamon rolls here).

The Fix!

(Wed – Fri: 11AM – 7PM, Sat – Sun: 10AM – 3PM, 600 E 31 st. KCMO)

Comfort foods reign supreme here but the weekend menu is more breakfast friendly with items like pancakes, fried breakfast burritos, smothered chicken biscuit and avocado toast. As fate would have it, the restaurant just got their liquor license and is now slinging bloody Marys, mimosas, selters, and beer.

Café Corazón

(Mon – Fri: 7AM – 6PM, Sat – Sun: 8AM – 6PM, 110 Southwest Blvd KCMO)

Granted, this Latin coffeeshop and yerba mate bar is not a restaurant but it has some great food options. The Crossroads space is a vibrant and serves creative Latin-inspired coffee drinks like dulce de leche lattes and café cortados. Food options include an array of Latin pastries like alfajores but also homemade tamales, empanadas and burritos.
