Parkville’s Acre restaurant is celebrating its second anniversary with an expansion.

It plans a late summer opening for a 1,316-square-foot event space on its north side.

The space will seat about 40 people for wine dinners, and social and corporate gatherings – from cocktail receptions to catered sit-down events. For private events and catering, visit http://www.acrekc.com

David Herron of herron + partners is the designer.

Chef Andrew Longres opened Acre restaurant, at 6325 Lewis St., in August 2022.

“We had to turn away a lot of private events, there just wasn’t room,” he said.

In April, Longres added lunch service from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. The menu includes such appetizers as pimento cheese hush puppies with a Green Goddess dressing; a smoked Caesar salad; and a knife-and-for chicken sandwich on its jalapeno bread with butter slaw, “comeback” sauce (mayo-based) and kettle chips.
