It’s another big fall weekend in KC. One of the era’s defining acts, Lizzo, comes to town to play the T-Mobile Center while Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills come to Arrowhead for one of the most hotly anticipated regular season football games in memory. Here’s that and more to do in KC this weekend.
Lizzo
Singer, songwriter, rapper and TikTok sensation Lizzo is touring with her new album, Special. Lizzo’s fourth studio album was released earlier this year, preceded by the lead single, “About Damn Time,” which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Special has been described as having funk, pop, hip-hop and disco influences. Rapper Latto will open for Lizzo’s full arena tour.
October 14. 8 pm. T-Mobile Center.

Corncucopia
A super busy autumn in the Power & Light District continues with Corncucopia. The fall festival aims for a family-friendly atmosphere and will have live music, carnival rides and vendors curated by Strawberry Swing. Admission is free and all-ages.
Friday, October 14 to Sunday, October 16. Power and Lights District.
Death Cab For Cutie
Death Cab for Cutie—Ben Gibbard’s painfully earnest early-’00s indie band that once rocked so hard concerts were forevermore banned from the River Market—is coming to KC this month in support of Asphalt Meadows, which debuted last month. The album features the lead single “Roman Candles” about the existential dread of “living in a nervous city on a dying planet,” the band said of the song in a statement.
October 14. 8 pm. The Midland.
Ghost Tours at the Harris-Kearney Civil War Home
This one-hour tour of what organizers call Westport’s “insanely haunted” Harris Kearney Civil War Home will include an overview of the property and why it’s said to be haunted. Tours will be led by “real paranormal investigators” who will tell war stories from other ghost hunts. This is an all-ages event.
4000 Baltimore Avenue, KCMO. Tickets are $10, times vary.
Brew at the Zoo
The Kansas City Zoo’s annual Brew at the Zoo is back this month with an adults-only evening of live music and free sampling from over thirty-five local breweries and wineries. The event will also feature local food trucks, access to the zoo’s new immersive lantern festival called GloWild and more. Proceeds from the event benefit the Kansas City Zoo’s Conservation Fund for preserving wildlife.
October 15. 6:30–11 pm. The Kansas City Zoo.
Bills vs. Chiefs
Arguably the biggest regular season game of the year, this matchup of the infamous “13 seconds” playoff game finds quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen dueling it out again. There’s a better-than-good chance this is a preview of the AFC championship game, and last time it all came down to a coin flip.
October 16. 3:25 pm. Arrowhead Stadium.
