Here are nine things to do in KC this weekend, July 31—August 3 including Fitz and The Tantrums, ULAH-Palooza and Festival of Butterflies.

Fitz and The Tantrums

In 2013, indie pop band Fitz and The Tantrums’ breakthrough sophomore album, More Than Just a Dream, put them on the map. The album’s lead single and most well-known track, “Out of My League,” climbed to a number one spot on Billboard’s Alternative chart. Now, a new release is on the way: The band’s KC performance at The Truman comes days after the release of Man on The Moon, their sixth studio album.

Talya Groves

Former Broadway performer Talya Groves is a Kansas City music scene star. Singing anything and everything from showtunes to jazz standards to pop songs, Groves’ magnetic presence seems to always captivate the room. Nearly every Friday night, she commands the stage at The Phoenix.

At ULAH-Palooza, over 20 local musicians will perform in support of the fundraiser. Over the course of the two-day affair, expect performances from Calvin Arsenia, Jamogi, Gracie Caggiano and more.
