An all‑you‑can‑eat Korean BBQ restaurant with service provided by robots is headed to Independence.
Let’s Go BBQ features self‑moving robots that deliver food straight to your table and traditional Korean BBQ. While customers cook their own meats, vegetables and more at their tabletop grill, robots handle service.
The restaurant is expected to open this fall in Independence Center.

Say hello to KC’s newest food hall: Plaza Provisions.
Plaza Provisions, a food hall focused on local restaurants opened last week inside the Country Club Plaza’s Cascade Hotel. The food hall replaces the former Strang Chef Collective that closed late last year.
Current vendors include Guy’s Deli & Pizza, J. Rieger & Co., Lula Southern Provisions and Hang Jaw Brew & Cue.
HTeaO (1404 East 23rd St S, Independence, MO, hteao.com)
HTeaO, a popular iced tea franchise, celebrated the grand opening of its newest location in Independence, Missouri, on Saturday, August 30. The tea shop offers over 20 flavors of sweetened and unsweetened tea, plus happy hour deals every day from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The celebration continues throughout this week with BOGO free drinks all weekend and half-priced gallons through September 6.

Don’t panic! Chicken N Pickle isn’t closing for good, just today.
Chicken N Pickle is closing all of its locations nationwide on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, for its sixth annual “Our Hearts Are Local Day”—a day when its roughly 2,000 employees are encouraged to skip shifts and spend the day volunteering in their local communities.
This volunteering initiative is part of Chicken N Pickle’s mission to give back by supporting food banks, animal shelters, youth programs, and cleanup efforts.
The program has contributed thousands of volunteer hours and raised more than $5 million for nonprofits since it began in 2017. Last year, Chicken N Pickle partnered with nearly 9,000 charities, hosted over 8,800 fundraisers and contributed more than $1.1 million in community support.

Creed of the Crop
Boulevard Brewing Co. has teamed up with Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro center Creed Humphrey to support Harvesters, the regional food bank, in a campaign to fight hunger across Kansas City.
This marks the fourth collaboration between Boulevard and Humphrey. A highlight of the campaign is the fourth annual Tailgate Gala, set for Tuesday, October 21 at Boulevard Brewing Co. The event will feature a barbecue buffet, a Q&A and photo session with Humphrey, and opportunities to win premium prizes. Tickets are $100, with all proceeds benefiting Harvesters.

Sail Away Wine in North Kansas City (309 Armour Rd., NKC) is launching its 2025 Trivia Bowl season on Sunday, Sept. 14.
Sail Away’s trivia bowl includes weekly competitions every Sunday from 1 pm to 3 pm through Jan. 4, 2026. Teams compete for weekly prizes and earn points toward the season championship, with grand prizes awarded at the season finale.
