8 Things To Do In KC This Weekend: November 5–7, 2021

Have you ever been in the Crossroads on a First Friday night and wished you had a map of the art shows happening? There’s one linked above. There are fifteen places listed on the map to explore. Of course, once you’re in the Crossroads, you’ll realize that there’s even more First Friday has to offer—street food, music, art alleys and more.

Cash Cash at KC Live! Saturday, November 6 

The Green Bay Packers are coming to town, and KC Live! has planned a huge free party on Saturday in the Power & Light District. It goes from 3-7 pm and tickets are free, but you’re encouraged to register and reserve space—plus make yourself eligible for prizes including signed footballs and jerseys. The headliner is Cash Cash, an electronic music trio with a string of hits including “All My Love” featuring Conor Maynard has amassed over 100 million streams on Spotify.

Night Shift Pop Up Market | Friday, November 5 

This one will be cool because it’s in the West Bottoms. Blip Roasters, the city’s finest motorcycle gear/coffee dealer, is holding a pop-up market with food, music and shopping. There will be 23 vendors with local, vintage and handmade goodies. Don’t forget, it’s First Friday in the West Bottoms, too.

Day of the Dead / Día de los Muertos on Central Avenue | Saturday, November 6

Día de los Muertos is traditionally celebrated from October 31-November 2. But events surrounding the holiday continue this weekend. The Central Avenue Betterment Association (CABA) is honoring Day of the Dead with art, live performances, amazing Mexican food, a parade and more.  

10 am-9 pm. 1120 Central Ave., KCK. Free. 

Kansas City Whiskey Expo | Saturday, November 6

Looking for something a little stronger this weekend? Harrah’s Casino is hosting the 2021 KC Whiskey Expo. This event was originally the Weston Whiskey and Tobacco Fest but gained so much traction that it needed a bigger venue. The event will include appetizers and whiskey samples from multiple distributors, plus wine, beer and mixed drink samples. But why would you go to a whiskey event for wine? If anyone needs a buddy for this, I’ll be around.

KC Wine Co. Sip & Shop | Saturday, November 6

If it’s wine you’re looking for, head to KC Wine Co. this Saturday for their Sip & Shop event. Actually, if you’re bold, you could schedule this before your whiskey tasting. There will be local businesses and wines of all kinds—including wine slushes. 

10 am-5 pm. KC Wine Co.,13875 South Gardner Rd., Olathe. Free. 

The Strawberry Swing is popping up at Weston Red Barn Farm this weekend for a day of markets and artists, cider donuts, pumpkins, hayrides, and more. This might be one of your last chances to get your fall in this year. And Weston is the perfect place to do it. After the Fall Swing, you can continue the party on the main strip, with Weston’s wineries, restaurants and bars.

Van Gogh Alive | Now–Friday, December 31

The much-hyped show makes use of moving images, sounds, lights and fragrances to create a multi-sensory experience designed to transport you into the world of one of the most influential artists in history. It runs until the end of the year, but don’t snooze on it—tickets are already selling out.
