A Cocktail With Heart

Kansas City’s Parade of Hearts has once again transformed the metro into an open-air art gallery, and Loews Kansas City Hotel is raising a glass to the celebration with a cocktail inspired by one of this year’s most eye-catching installations.

Greeting visitors in the hotel’s front drive is “There’s No Place Like Chrome,” a monumental mirrored heart by artist Trew Love. Standing approximately 18 feet tall with gleaming chrome wings, the sculpture was created as a symbol of love taking flight and a warm welcome to Kansas City.

Inspired by the artwork, Loews has introduced the Fountain City Chrome, the latest offering from its Alchemy by Loews Hotels cocktail program. The drink puts a modern spin on the classic Aviation, blending gin and fresh lemon with delicate notes of lavender and crème de violette. A pinch of edible glitter gives the cocktail a polished shimmer that echoes the sculpture’s reflective finish.

Named for Kansas City’s iconic fountains, the Fountain City Chrome is a toast to one of the city’s favorite public art traditions. Whether you’re making your way through the Parade of Hearts or just stopping by for a drink, it’s not a bad way to celebrate the summer.
