Swig (5959 Barkley St., Mission, KS)
Swig Soda Shop, a Utah-based chain, has officially opened its first Johnson County location in Mission.
The wildly popular spot, popularized by TikTok, specializes in “dirty sodas,” which feature a variety of flavor combinations. The Johnson Country location is one of four throughout the metro. According to Swig’s website, an Overland Park location is “opening soon” (6901 W 91st St., Overland Park, KS).

Closings
ReRoll Tavern & Vignettes (2368 Armour Rd. & 2376 Armour Rd.)
North Kansas City tabletop game bar ReRoll Tavern took to Facebook to announce its closing on June 30.
“When we began this quest, we always knew it would be a great challenge,” the Facebook post stated. “Although we had some great triumphs, constantly rising costs make it impossible to continue.”
The bar’s sister business Vignettes, a themed pop-up cocktail bar, is closing as well at the end of this month.

Betty Rae’s Continues To Expand
Betty Rae’s is on a roll with locations opening left and right throughout the metro.
As of recently, Lee’s Summit is getting its first Betty Rae’s Ice Cream location in a grocery store, Cosentino’s Price Chopper (251 SW Greenwich Dr., Lee’s Summit, MO). An opening date has not been determined.
Another site will open in Shawnee’s Monticello Center in June (22350 W. 66th St., Shawnee, KS), making it the seventh Betty Rae’s shop in the KC area.
Lunch at the Stilwell
The Stilwell at Loews Kansas City is now serving lunch daily.
Stop by The Stilwell at lunchtime Monday through Friday, 11 am to 3 pm or on Saturday and Sundays from noon to 3 pm.
The lunch menu features burnt end sandwiches topped with slaw, fried onions, a homemade barbecue sauce, or a fried chicken sandwich with pimiento cheese, pickles and fries. On the lighter side of the menu, a Mediterranean salad with romaine, cucumber, red onion, tomato, olives and white balsamic vinaigrette is available.
JJ’s Patio Is Open
Considering JJ’s was was recently nominated for a James Beard award for its outstanding wine program, it’s the perfect excuse to dine on its now-open patio.
